Poland’s roads are becoming increasingly crowded with modern policing tools – drones and helicopters are becoming commonplace for cargo transport control. On 14 May, we wrote about the increasing use of such technology, and this week it has been put into practice again.
👮 This time the Swiec traffic police raided the S5 motorway between Swiet and Sartowice. In just two hours, a police drone captured as many as 13 lorry drivers breaking the overtaking ban (sign B-26).
🚛 All offenders received a fine of PLN 1 000 each and up to 15 penalty points.
🎥 What you need to know:
Aerial video footage is irrefutable evidence and the police are not obliged to give advance notice of such controls. As a result, drivers at risk are directly exposed to heavy fines and lose their right to litigation.
FleetIntel recommends:
Stay alert and do not break overtaking bans, even on sections that seem “safe”. It is likely that this stretch of road will be monitored continuously, with violators being recorded from the air and fines and points being issued without warning.
