Traffic on the Danube Bridge near Ruse is restricted to one lane because of drainage works; vehicles are released at roughly 20-minute intervals until 31 December 2026. Heavy goods vehicles over 12 t on road I-8 between Svilengrad and Kapitan Andreevo must detour via II-89, the Pastragor junction on the Maritsa Motorway and the Kapitan Andreevo junction.
